U.S. Marines assigned to Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV) Platoon, Battalion Landing Team 3/2, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), look at the beach of Camp Lejeune, minutes before they launched their AAVs from the USS Carter Hall (LSD 50), coming home to the United States after an eight month deployment Nov. 3, 2013. The 26th MEU is a Marine Air-Ground Task Force returning home from being forward-deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility aboard the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group.
