A U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) transports Marines from the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) to coordinate and establish operations with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and other services operating at St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, as a Forward Coordination Element, in the Caribbean Sea, Sept. 9, 2017. The 26th MEU is ready to respond to any requests to bolster Northern Command's support of FEMA assistance to federal, state and local authorities' ongoing efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.
