U.S. Marines Col. Robert C. Fulford and Sgt. Maj. Brett C. Scheuer respectively, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) pay their respects to Staff Sgt. Louis F. Cardin during memorial ceremony aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) in the Red Sea, Mar. 24, 2016. Staff Sgt. Cardin died from wounds suffered following an indirect fire attack at Fire Base Bell in northern Iraq. The 26th MEU is embarked on the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group and is deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. (U.S Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Jalen D.
