GULF OF AQABA (June 7, 2013) – The USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) ported in Aqaba, Jordan during the offloading for Exercise Eager Lion, June 7. Exercise Eager Lion 2013 is an annual, multinational exercise designed to strengthen military-to-military relationships and enhance security and stability in the region by responding to modern-day security scenarios. San Antonio is part of the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 26th Marine Expeditionary, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
