Cpl. Michael Funk, from Saint Stephen, S.C., and a motor transport mechanic with Combat Logistics Battalion 26, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), practices reloading his M4 service rifle during weapons handling drills aboard the USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) while at sea April 8, 2013. The MEU is currently deployed as part of the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group to the 5th Fleet area of operation. The MEU operates continuously across the globe, providing the president and unified combatant commanders with a forward-deployed, sea-based quick reaction force.
