USS Wasp (LHD-1) is visible through the windshield of a Landing Craft Air Cushion as its is navigated away from the shore of Onslow Beach, N.C., April 11, 2012. The 26th MEU is currently providing support to the Commemoration of the Battle of New Orleans. Starting this April and continuing through 2015, the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Coast Guard will commemorate the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the Star Spangled Banner.
