Pablo, a military working dog, sits to signal he found an improvised explosive device under supervision of his handler, U.S. Marine Corps Lance Corporal David Pond, attached to Company I, Battalion Landing Team 3/8, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Regimental Combat Team 8, at Kakar, Helmand province, Afghanistan, Feb. 14, 2011. Pablo and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Marines found and cleared seven main charges, three pressure-plates and a command-pull device from Kakar that day. Elements of 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit deployed to Afghanistan to provide regional security in Helmand province in support of the International Security Assistance Force.
