Sgt. Thomas Barrows, an Assault Climbers Course instructor with Special Operations Training Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force demonstrates proper gear placement during a class at the Assault Climbers Course at Lower Cliff in Kingwood, W.Va., April 26, 2010. The gear is called friends, because it will help save lives in case of falls from a mountain. The class learned different techniques for moving themselves and others quickly over man-made and natural occurring objects. The Assault Climbers Course is one of several Special Operations Training Group events as part of 26th MEU's preparation for deployment this fall. (Official USMC photo by Staff Sgt. Danielle M.
