Jaclyn Jones, Lifestyle Insights Networking Knowledge and Skills (LINKS) trainer, shows Marine parents how to read a Leave and Earnings Statement, Aug. 8, 2008. These Marine family members are participating in the first LINKS training session specifically conducted for parents. This training offers them a general understanding of the Marine Corps and a basic familiarity with many of the more enigmatic aspects of life in the Corps. Most also spent the morning in Family Readiness Assistant Training. These parents, like George Somjen whose son is a corporal with Battalion Landing Team 2/6, say they have a wealth of experience to offer Marines and families and are excited to be part of the team.
