Eight Marines from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit's sniper platoon practiced shooting floating targets while deployed aboard the USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7) , Sept. 6, 2008. Each target was supposed to represent small water craft, said Gunnery Sgt. Jeffery Benkie, the scout sniper platoon sergeant. The Marines held the exercise to hone the shooters' ability to provide security for the ship during transit through heightened security areas. (Official Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Jason D. Mills)
