Two Marines from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit's sniper platoon practice shooting floating targets while underway aboard the USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7) Sept. 6, 2008. Each target represented small water craft, said Gunnery Sgt. Jeffery Benkie, the scout sniper platoon sergeant. The Marines held the exercise to hone the shooters' ability to provide security for the ship during transit through heightened security areas.
