Marines from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit's Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battlion, 6th Marine Regiment’s Weapons Company send rounds down range in order to qualify to shoot while on the USS Iwo Jima. The training was essential for the Marines to get used to firing on the ship and for the sailors stationed on the ship to get used to the Marines, said Sgt. James Cudd, a section leader for the BLT. The training is part of the 26th MEU's six month pre-deployment training cycle before its upcoming deployment this fall.
