OFF THE COAST OF NORTH CAROLINA (March 11, 2008) -- Petty Officer 2nd Class Keisha Benjamin serves breakfast aboard USS San Antonio for the crew and nearly 600 embarked Marines. An additional 1800 meals a day keep the messmen and augmented Marines busy in the galley. Battalion Landing Team 3/8 and Marines from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit are aboard the San Antonio to conduct exercises during the ships Operational Evaluation, which will measure the new ship's ability to support Marine expeditionary operations.
