The Marines and Sailors of the USS Ashland volunteer their time during community service projects during a liberty port in Sliema, Malta.  Chaplain Jones B. Ofuasia, the chaplain for Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Bn., 8th Marines, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) and Hospital Corpsman Troy A. Deagrella also with BLT 2/8, sweep the roof April 12th of the St. Paul's Home care facility run by the Little Sisters of the Poor in Hamrun, Malta.  The Marines and Sailors from the ship landing dock USS Ashland (LSD 48) and the 26th MEU (SOC) volunteered their time to help with needed repair and cleanup of the building during what will likely be their only liberty port for some time on their current deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism. St. Paul's Home provides living accommodations for elderly citizens of Malta who do not have the means to care for themselves. (Official photo by Sgt. Mario Gonzalez) (Released)
